The Rallye 3 Jacket has removable sleeves for use as body warmer or vest and is designed with many different possibilities for ventilation and ways of adjusting widths and fit. The various pockets are capacious for long tours and off-road competitions and there's now an outside pouch for drinking-water reservoir ? easy to fill. It also sports plenty of reflective material for high visibility in traffic. New membrane with Comfort-Mapping (on both Rallye 3 Jacket and Rallye 3 Pants): The most suitable membrane is assigned to each part of the body to provide the most comfort and functionality. The extent of the waterproofing capability and its breathable capability have different weightings in various zones. With a roughened inner surface at exposed parts of the body to provide more protection against the cold. There are 3 zones: Zone 1 "Flow": highly breathable (e.g. back, top of seat). Zone 2 "Comfort": with warming, light fleece (e.g. knees, bottom of seat, shoulders and nape of the neck). Zone 3 "Shield": maximum waterproofing capability to deal with water when the motorcycle is on the move in driving rain

I really like this suit. It is light and protection wise it's in the standarts. I had an acciden this summer at about 60kmh and it hold up perfectly. I came away with some bruises and that's it. I'd recommand it indeed, but I think it is more expensive than the other brands out there.

I bought this jacket about 2 years ago from a BMW dealership in Oregon. I paid 860$ however I was given a sweet military discount because they are awesome. Anyways.I don't own cars or trucks. I only ride bikes. I have worn this jacket exclusively for over 2 years. It was not my first jacket by any means, I have owned over 20 jackets because they all had flaws or shortcomings. I continued to own 2-3 jackets at a time for different riding conditions until I found the BMW Rallye 3 jacket.I ride in all weather, even snow. This jacket has seen it all and has kept me warm in the freezing cold, cool in the super hot and dry in the most powerful rain storms a R1100RT could safely handle.I've slept in it on the asphalt, I've camped in it, I've lived in it. This is a jacket that never fails and performs flawlessly for years.The outer shell of the jacket is a very tough feeling fabric. The yellow strips are fabric layed over the main material so it is one piece, nice and strong. It has never frayed or ripped. I am by no means easy on this jacket, I abuse the hell out of it and it still looks as new as it did 2 years ago, there are of course, stains and some burn marks here and there, but the fabric itself is in perfect condition. Other jackets of mine had frayed or completely failed within months or even weeks.The reflective material is very nice. its bright and works GREAT. you WILL be seen.This jacket has a TON of pockets, Truly its amazing. There is a pocket for everything. Pockets on the front, on the arms, on the back. There is a great ID pocket on the left arm that is perfect for key FOBs or Drivers ID.Two of the biggest pockets on the front are FULLY waterproof. Once in the CA heat I filled them with ice cubes to stay cool. an hour of riding later the water from the cubes was still in the pocket, nothing leaked out. Anything you put in there WILL stay dry even in the worst rain storms.The collar on the jacket fits nice around my neck and creates a good seal.The jacket can breath very well in the heat. there are a ton of ways to open up airflow. Two on the front of the chest, a large vent on the back, large underarm vents, and the arms can be totally unziped up the length of them. In the worst heat the arms can be totally removed to create a vest.The jacket comes with a internal liner, This is one of the best features of the jacket. This liner is breathable however, it is TOTALLY waterproof. I always stay perfectly dry. The outer shell is not waterproof, only resistant. This is for a reason however, may be a con for some. In the summer you can soak the outershell to stay cool. in the winter or rain the inner shell keeps you warm and dry. even when the shell is watersoaked.I love the liner. its perfect.Overall this is the best jacket I have ever used on the market. The price is high but trust me, you wont ever use another jacket.

I purchased this along with a brand new BMW R1200GS. The zippers had to be replaced and when they were replaced they were put back in female style rather than male style/side. The mesh in the vents caught in the zippers and were hard to adjust while riding, eventually I tore the mesh trying to unzip after a severe rain storm and trying to open the vents in the hot Florida weather. Last but no least, something happened that really upset me. The rubberized facing/covering around the neck to stop water running down your neck in a rain storm just disintegrated and fell off in small pieces. The BMW dealer where I purchased it stated it was out of warranty (it was still brand new looking, with almost no use) and I would have to send it to the BMW clothing repair center up in the NW USA.A jacket that costs this much money should have no issues as it should be very tuff! This was a major investment that BMW would not accept responsibility for very poor workmanship during construction and very inferior materials around the collar. This jacket fell apart just sitting in my air conditioned closet! It still looks brand new, except where it is self disintegrating as it sits in its special thick wood or its thick plastic heavy duty hangar. This is a very heavy piece. A normal heavy duty hanger will bend or break under the weight, which is good, I think, in the event you go down and need protection.It has a ton of storage compartments-GOOD.You can carry a ton of gear-GOOD.It is water proof-GOOD.It has very good ventilation-GOOD.It is built with Material components which are-BAD.
